How do I get started?
- Signing up is simple and can be done two ways: via the inmate themselves -or- through a family member.
- Inmates can start the sign-up process by adding [email protected] on CorrLinks -or- by texting 256-47-5036.

- Yes, we are a judgment-free website.
- Payment can be submitted via check (from the prison), money order, or online (see instructions).
- No, we request all information listed on the profile be authentic. Failure to do so may result in your profile being removed, without a refund.
- Yes! Please send all photos to Unchained Connections 3202 McClellan Blvd #4523 Anniston, AL 36204. Photos with just yourself are highly preferred, but if you have to send photos with others, be sure to identify yourself.
- We ask that you allow fourteen business days (excluding holidays and weekends) for your profile to go live on our site.

How do I write an inmate?
- On the profile page, you will see all contact information and instructions on how to reach them.
- You must be 18 years of age or older to be a pen pal.
- It depends on what method of contact you use. Most of the people we post are in Federal prison, so it is free for you to text or email them (via CorrLinks). And you can always write them a letter, which costs less than $1 (for the stamp).
- Every inmate who creates a profile on our site will be properly vetted. Their charges, entry date, and release date is posted on their profile. We do not accept anyone with crimes against women or children. Even though we provide a little insight on their conviction, please do your own research.
- Sure! Please contact us here.
- No, please only send a regular text messages. Photos will need to be sent via mail. They must not be any larger than 4 x 6 and for most prisons, you cannot include more than 25. Please check with the person you're talking to to confirm the rules. You can also use third-party printing services like Free Prints and Shutterfly. Please send the photos directly to the inmate.
- Through text or email, it could take 2-3 hours for them to respond.
- For mail, it could take 3-5 business days for mail to travel state-to-state, or 1-3 business days if you're in the same state.
- Times will vary and may be longer if a prison is on lockdown.
