BIOgraphyHi, my name is Randy, and as you can see, I love dogs! I am a trainer in a dog rescue program that saves dogs from high-kill shelters. We train them here in prison, and then they are adopted out to a forever home. It is so rewarding.
When I am not training my dog, I am taking college classes. Right now, I am working on a psychology degree. After that, I will focus on a sociology degree. My dream is to help counsel troubled individuals, possibly with the help of dogs. I was recently inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I love all kinds of music—classic rock, country, and especially the 90's. Wow, this whole idea of trying to "sell" myself is a lot like being a puppy in a shelter. "Pick me! Pick me! Hey, over here! Pick me!" Yes, I have made bad choices and mistakes along the way, but I have learned (and continue to learn) from them. It took me a while to fully understand that it is okay not being perfect. I have found happiness in being the best version of me I can be. My heart is the biggest thing about me. I am full of hope and would love to share in what life has to offer outside these walls.
